Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Majid Muhammad Jassim, the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra hosted the central workshop held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority/National Council for Accreditation of Programs of Colleges of the Educational Group on the standards of programmatic accreditation for educational specializations. The workshop was lectured by Prof. Dr. Haider Hatem Faleh, Chairman of the National Council, and Prof. Dr. Haider Mohsen Salman, a member of the National Council for Accreditation of Programs of Colleges of the Educational Group. The workshop was also attended by the Dean of the College of Education/Qurna, Prof. Dr. Adnan Sultan, the Dean of the College of Education for Girls, Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Muhammad, and a number of lecturers and heads of the central and sub-quality committees and programmatic accreditation committees in the educational colleges in the universities of the southern governorates, governmental and private, such as the University of Basra, Dhi Qar, Maysan, Shatrah, Sumer, and Al-Ain Private University. Several topics were raised and discussed, including academic accreditation standards and methods of achieving them, and emphasizing the scientific and humanities departments on applying for Academic accreditation.
