The College of Education for Pure Sciences holds its first scientific conference for graduate students

The College of Education for Pure Sciences held its first scientific conference for graduate students, which was held under the slogan “Scientific Research: A Pillar of Creativity, Innovation, and Development,” during the period from April 17 to 18, 2024.
Our scientific conference, which witnessed the participation of an elite group of postgraduate student researchers in our college and some other colleges in various scientific specializations... It reflects the shared determination to enhance our research and scientific capabilities. Through the conference activities, scientific ideas and innovations were exchanged in various fields such as mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, and life sciences, which contributed to expanding academic discussions on vital and pivotal issues.
Based on the lessons learned and feedback from the participants, the conference’s scientific committee facilitated the drafting of its final statement.
The following recommendations, which aim to support and stimulate scientific excellence, encourage cooperation between specialists from different disciplines, and ensure the continuity and expansion of the conference in the future, so that it remains a prominent landmark in the field of scientific research and innovation.

Strengthening research cooperation:
Hosting external lecturers in various scientific specializations to participate in presenting lectures that keep pace with scientific and technological progress from abroad and within. Attracting workshops in different specializations that are held alongside scientific sessions to discuss the research presented.
Encouraging researchers and participants to develop collaborative partnerships for scientific research between universities and the various institutions they represent.
Create lasting networks for research collaboration that go beyond conference days.
The second axis:
Stimulating innovation and creativity:
Allocate special sessions to present new technologies and innovations in various scientific fields.
Create competitions or prizes for the best research or innovations presented during the conference.
The third axis:
Expanding the scope of participation:
Inviting researchers and academics from diverse fields to encourage interdisciplinary scientific interaction.
Providing a platform for the participation of graduate students and giving them an opportunity to present their research to a wider audience.

Improving conference infrastructure:
Develop logistics such as registration, materials distribution, and overall organization to ensure a smooth experience for participants.
Using technology to facilitate communication and discussion among participants, such as conference applications or virtual communication platforms.

Promoting scientific publishing:
Creating special periodicals for the conference’s work that are published annually to highlight the most important achievements and research.
Axis Six: Feedback and Evaluation:
Conduct opinion polls among participants to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the conference, and use this information.
General recommendations
Working to make this scientific conference an annual periodic one due to the success achieved by the first international scientific conference, in addition to holding international conferences specialized in various sciences.
Expressing thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the Presidency of the University of Basra and all the workers in the conference committees and supporters for their distinguished efforts, good hospitality and organization.
Appreciating the role of the Deanship of the College of Education for Pure Sciences and its members in embracing the conference proceedings and the facilities it provided for the success of the conference.
Working to hold joint international or local conferences between Iraqi universities, which will enhance constructive scientific cooperation.
