The five-a-side football team of the College of Education for Pure Sciences took third place in the Basrah  University President’s Championship, which was organized by the Student Activities Department among 18 colleges of the University of Basra.
Our team achieved this rank after defeating the colleges of (Marine Sciences, Information Technology, Sciences, and Humanities Education), and losing the semi-final against the team of the College of Administration and Economics.
The Student Activities Officer for our college (A.M.D. Ali Sabbar Muhammad) stated that the outcome of this result came as a result of the continuous moral support from the Dean of the College (A.M.D. Majid Muhammad Jassim), as well as the cooperation of the department heads and the combined efforts of the players with each other. Some and the spirit of cooperation among students.
The assistant coach (M.M. Ali Hussein Munadi) also confirmed that the technical preparation was fully prepared, but luck did not smile on the team, and the time distance between the matches and postponements also prevented them from winning the match.
The third place came after the College of Administration and Economics in first place and the College of Engineering in second place.
