The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah  organized a scientific lecture entitled (carbonyl thiourea derivatives and their complexes). It is also included in the preparation of some insecticides and some plant regulators, and it is one of the thiourea derivatives, which contains the active group carbonyl thiourea and other substitutes that may be aliphatic, aromatic, or heterocyclic.
It also included a review of some of the compounds that were prepared and the study of their biological effectiveness, which proved that these compounds have an important biological effectiveness.
