The Department of Chemistry at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a course entitled
(Safety procedures inside the laboratory)

Course objectives
Introduce laboratory personnel to potential hazards in the laboratory
And developing a sense of safety and security among students and laboratory workers by guiding them on the danger points in laboratories.
And give some instructions and directives for the procedures that must be taken when any accident occurs in the laboratory to maintain the safety of students and laboratory workers.
And to enhance the quality of laboratories by providing the necessary safety measures in the laboratory
And to raise the degree of accreditation of laboratories to obtain a high classification of quality requirements
The course was attended by the Head of the Chemistry Department, Prof. M. Dr.. Jassim Muhammad Saleh and a group of professors of the department and the rest of the departments and postgraduate students

A discussion took place between the lecturer and the attending professors about the potential risks in laboratories and the mechanisms that must be followed to ensure the safety of students and laboratory workers.
The necessity of communicating with the Safety and Quality Committee and the laboratory supervisors to ensure the provision of all necessary requirements for safety in the laboratories and to find solutions to some of the obstacles that they face in working inside the laboratory.
