A master's thesis at the University of Basrah discusses a serological and molecular study of Toxoplasma parasite in Immunosuppressed patients, especially those infected breast cancer in Basrah Governorate, southern Iraq.

The College of Education for Pure Sciences discussed a master's thesis on (a serological and molecular study of the Toxoplasma parasite in
Immunosuppressed patients, especially those with breast cancer, in Basrah  Governorate, southern Iraq)
The thesis presented by the researcher (Shams Al-Duha Issa Jaafar) included that our current study was conducted in Basrah  Governorate during the period from 2020 to 2021 in order to determine
Seroprevalence of IgG and IgM antibodies to toxoplasmosis in cancer patients, especially patients with
Breast, lung, colon, and lymphoma (by using ELISA).
And then the molecular diagnosis by the B1 gene by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in Basra Governorate
Southern Iraq.
The study included 173 blood samples from different groups of patients, including 123 patients with a disease
Cancer and chemotherapy users, 25 samples of non-cancer patients were made into a first control group.
And 25 samples of cancer patients who had not yet undergone chemotherapy made a second control group.
The purpose of the message
Determination of seroprevalence of Toxoplasma conidia in cancer patients in an oncology center/hospital
Al-Sadr Education in Basrah  Governorate.
DNA extraction to detect Toxoplasma conidia parasite DNA and amplify it using
PCR polymerase chain reaction technology.
And knowledge of the genetic sequencing of samples positive for ELISA examination and comparison with bank samples
Universal genes to know the nature of mutations.
And the work of the evolutionary tree Phylogenetic tree to know the strains Strains
