University of Basrah discusses a master's thesis on (preparation and analytical study of some azo dyes and their pharmaceutical applications)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah  discussed a master's thesis on (preparation and analytical study of some pigments
azo and its pharmaceutical applications)
The thesis presented by the researcher (Ali Kamel Mohsen) included the preparation of single-linked azo compounds (A1, A2), compounds of Schiff bases (S1, S2) and some double-linked azo complexes (L1-L4), and their diagnosis by infrared, visible and ultraviolet rays, mass spectrometry and nuclear resonance spectroscopy. proton magnetic field (1H NMR). And analytical studies such as the effect of pH and the effect of different polar solvents on the electronic absorption spectra of azo compounds. The study also included conducting some applications, as some of these double-linked dyes (L1) were used as acid-base markers, and the biological activity of all compounds against three types of bacteria was also studied.
Objectives of the study
The aim of this study is to prepare two new azo dyes (A1) and (A2).
Diagnosis of the two dyes prepared by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), visible and ultraviolet spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) spectroscopy, and studying their toxicity at different concentrations. This toxicity was also compared with chemicals from the laboratory and found to be toxic.
Conducting some analytical and spectroscopic studies of the two prepared dyes, in two directions:
• Studying the effect of some organic solvents of different polarities on the absorption peaks of the prepared dyes.
• Studying the effect of the pH on the prepared dyes, calculating the ionization and permutation constants in solutions of different pH, and determining the azostic points.
And conducting some analytical and biological applications on the prepared single-linked dyes and on other double-linked dyes
