The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture on (the study of some vital physiological indicators in obese people and their adoption as predictors of metabolic syndrome)
The lecture presented by the researcher (Ahmed Jassim Abbas) included
The study included collecting blood samples from obese and healthy men of normal weight. The study aimed to assess the levels of biomarkers in the serum of study samples and their physiological relationship with obesity and the possibility of adopting them as early predictors of metabolic syndrome disease. The results of the study showed significant changes in the levels of the following indicators (ADP, IL-6, HMGB-1, IGF-1, PON-1, PAI-1) in the serum of samples of obese and healthy subjects. Thus, through the results obtained by the study, it is possible to predict or early diagnosis of metabolic syndrome in obese men.
