A tour of the Health Physics Laboratory in the Physics Department of the College of Education for Pure Sciences

Health Physics Lab

Supervised by

Assistant Professor Dr. Sana Kazem Khalaf

The Health Physics Laboratory is one of the laboratories of the Department of Physics, College of Education for Pure Sciences, where attention is paid to everything related to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, as well as the biological effects resulting from exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

As health physics is the application of the radiation protection program for patients, workers, community members and the environment, and the monitoring of radiation exposure and radiation dose. It is concerned with adjusting and changing radiation doses. It is also defined as protecting humans and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation while allowing beneficial applications.

Although the laboratory needs some advanced equipment, it does contain some glassware, chemicals, and devices, including these devices.
