condolence

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

“O tranquil soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], and enter among My [righteous] servants and enter My Paradise.”

God Almighty has spoken the truth.

With hearts believing in God’s decree and destiny, and with profound sorrow and grief, we received the news of the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God be pleased with him), who dedicated his life to serving the causes of the Islamic nation and contributed throughout his long career in the fields of knowledge, work, and struggle, leaving behind a profound legacy in the reality and contemporary consciousness of the nation.

On this sorrowful occasion, on behalf of myself, the President of the University of Basra, and all its faculty, staff, and students, I extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Muslim people of Iran, to the seminaries of Najaf and Qom, to the entire Muslim world, and to his esteemed family. We pray to God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy, to admit him to His spacious Paradise, and to grant patience and solace to all.

The martyred Sayyid was a prominent figure in the defense of principles and values, and in the defense of Muslim lands against the forces of darkness represented by America and Israel. He was known for his steadfastness and influential presence, combining intellectualism, responsibility, and practical action. His life and legacy remain a model of dedication, sincerity, and responsibility.

As we recall this journey filled with sacrifice and devotion, we affirm that his intellectual and humanitarian legacy will continue to inspire generations and motivate us to continue working towards establishing the values of knowledge and awareness and serving humanity. We ask God Almighty to accept him among the martyrs and the righteous, and to place his deeds on the scale of good works.

To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.

There is no power nor strength except with God, the Most High, the Almighty.
