The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra organized a scientific event titled "Thesis in Three Minutes." Eight doctoral students participated in the event, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Majid Mohammed Jassim, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The event aimed to highlight promising research projects by presenting simplified scientific summaries of doctoral theses, with each participant's presentation not exceeding three minutes. This event is part of the college's efforts to enhance students' scientific communication skills and enable them to present their ideas in a language that is understandable and attractive to both academic and non-specialized audiences.
The event included individual presentations by students using simplified visual media, focusing on the importance of their research, its scientific objectives, and the opportunities for its application in academic and societal realities.
The winners were announced at the conclusion of the event. Shadia Saddam, a student from the Department of Life Sciences, won first place, while Zaidoun, a student from the Department of Computer Science, came in second.
