The University of Basrah organizes a workshop on (Extremism: Its Intellectual Roots, Societal Impacts, and Confrontation Mechanisms)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences, in cooperation with the Media and Government Communication Division, organized a workshop on "Extremism: Its Intellectual Roots, Societal Impacts, and Confrontation Mechanisms." The workshop was delivered by Mr. Ali Abdul Hussein Madhoush, Director of the Quality and Institutional Development Department at the General Company for Electricity Production, and Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Muzani, Director of the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra.
The workshop aimed to spread intellectual and social awareness, clarify the concept of extremism, how to confront its effects, and explore mechanisms for addressing it. The lecturers addressed several topics, including a definition of extremism with practical examples, its causes, and its types (intellectual, political, religious, and social), as well as mechanisms for confronting it with illustrative examples. They also presented recommendations and suggestions that contribute to the rejection of extremism in all its forms.
The workshop was attended by a group of students and professors in a blessed atmosphere of faith during the month of Ramadan. The meeting witnessed clear interaction through fruitful discussions between the lecturers and attendees. In conclusion, the workshop organizers extended their sincere thanks to all those who contributed to its success, affirming their commitment to continuing to organize such events aimed at spreading culture and intellectual awareness among students in a friendly and loving environment
