
The College of Education for Pure Sciences held an introductory seminar in cooperation with the Al Ain Foundation for Charity and Social Care Services for Orphans and Patients throughout Iraq, especially in Basra Governorate.
This seminar, delivered by lecturer Samir Abdul Nasser, included the role and efforts provided by the foundation to provide support and care for foster children.
The main topics of this seminar included
An overview of the Al Ain Foundation, its establishment and objectives.
Social care and material and moral support for foster children
And the available educational and vocational training opportunities.
And psychological care and psychological support programs for children and adolescents.
The importance of social work. The role of society in supporting foster children and its impact on improving their quality of life.
And presenting positive experiences from Basra and their impact on society.
Methods of participation, volunteering or providing financial and in-kind assistance.
The seminar also addressed
Raising awareness about the issue of foster children. Providing a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences between students and specialists. Encouraging community interaction between individuals and institutions to support this important humanitarian issue.
In conclusion, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, stressed the importance of cooperation with Al Ain Foundation, which reflects the university's commitment to cooperating with social institutions to enhance care programs and provide advisory services. The Dean of the College also stressed the activation of the role of students and professors to work on developing their capabilities to produce research related to social care and its impact. And encouraging students to participate actively in community activities and emphasizing the role of the university in social responsibility and its impact on the local community.
