Summary
In this paper, a new compound was prepared, which is the azonitron compound, produced by the reaction of azobenzaldehyde with N-phenylhydroxylamine through several steps. This compound was diagnosed by well-known diagnostic methods such as infrared spectroscopy, proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The nonlinear refractive index was determined by using the -scatter diffraction ring model. The optical limiter property of the compound has been tested and the results prove that the compound can be used as an optical limiter.
