Basra University organizes a scientific lecture on determining the effect of gasoline fuel vapors on the functions of the immune mucous membranes

The College of Education for Pure Sciences in the Department of Life Sciences organized a scientific lecture with the participation of a number of teachers and students of studies

The problem of air pollution is one of the main causes of respiratory and immune diseases in developing countries, urban areas and city centers, as nearly three million people lose their lives annually due to air pollution, 90% of them in developed countries

The current study concluded that working for a long period of time in filling stations leads to health problems for workers and causes symptoms of headache and bleeding gums in addition to an increase in bronchial sensitivity and asthma. Exposure of workers to fuel vapors affects the level of IgE and IgA antibodies, which are related to an increase. The incidence of mucous membranes, allergies, asthma, and increased stress and headaches among workers causes a high level of enzyme
The lecture aimed to measure the level of sIgA in the saliva of workers at fuel filling stations in Basra Governorate
And studying the influence of defense proteins that contribute to the first line of defense in membranes
