The President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, stated that the university has completed the renewal of its affiliates' contracts for the year 2024 within the ministerial contracts of Cabinet Resolution (315) of 2019.

Adding that the university is keen to renew the contracts of its employees, numbering (1203) employees distributed across all the university's joints of colleges and centers, and cannot neglect their services that they have provided to the university during the past years.

Confirming that the University of Basra is the first university to obtain the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to renew its employees' contracts annually.
It is noteworthy that Cabinet Resolution No. 315 granted contract employees a retirement guarantee, the right to withdraw advances, determine salaries, and the right to complete their studies, in addition to the right to apply for plots of land and priority in appointment to the permanent staff
