University of Basrah signs an agreement with Al-Ain University of Iraq

In a move aimed at enhancing academic cooperation and knowledge exchange, the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah  signed a twinning agreement with the College of Education for Pure Sciences at Al-Ain University in Iraq, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in the presence of a number of officials and academics from both institutions.
The agreement included a set of paragraphs that enhance scientific and cultural cooperation between the two colleges, such as: scientific research, student exchange, joint programs, etc. This initiative reflects the commitment of the two universities to developing higher education programs and achieving academic integration.
The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Majid Muhammad Jassim from the University of Basra, expressed his happiness at signing this agreement, stressing that this cooperation will contribute to developing educational staff and expertise in the field of laboratories and modern methods in the educational process. For his part, Professor Dr. Hussein Barghouth Marhoon, Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences at Al-Ain University, stressed the role of this agreement in advancing the reality of higher education and strengthening the bonds of solidarity between government universities and private universities.
The two parties concluded on the necessity of expanding this agreement to include other specializations within the framework of the two universities' continuous efforts to strengthen their relations and expand the horizons of scientific cooperation between them, which benefits students and the academic community. The President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, welcomed this agreement, stressing the implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the necessity of twinning and joint cooperation between governmental and private universities.
