University of Basrah organizes an educational symposium on (Pollution, its sources and types)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Life Sciences, organized an educational symposium on pollution, its sources and types.
The symposium aimed to raise awareness about the causes of environmental pollution, which contribute to the decline in quality of life standards and damage to natural ecosystems.
The symposium addressed several environmental topics, in which everyone attended
The first axis: Dr. Inaam Mahdi Ghadhban
(The concept of environmental pollution and its five types represented by (air pollution - soil pollution - water pollution - nuclear and chemical waste pollution, which is called destructive pollution, and other aspects of pollution represented by noise pollution, visual pollution, electromagnetic pollution, sources of pollution, whether domestic or industrial, and the dilemma of treating waste from its various sources)
The second axis, Dr. Mona Khudair Marzouk
Pollution with insects and invertebrates, which are among the most important and dangerous household pollutants, such as household dust mites, which cause allergies, and ways to get rid of and prevent them, the most important of which are periodic cleaning, replacing mattresses and covers, cleaning cloth dolls on which mites breed, and using antibacterial pillows and mattresses.
The third axis, Dr. Anfal Nouri Abbas
The contribution of algae to reducing environmental pollution through phytoremediation processes
And treating wastewater using algae, as well as purifying the environment from heavy metals. Algae is characterized by its ability to accumulate heavy metals inside cells, which reduces their concentrations in the environment.
The fourth axis, Dr. Amal Saleh Abdel Reda
The ability of fungi to decompose the most dangerous types of pollutants represented by plastic because they possess special enzymes. They also have the ability to decompose polycyclic hydrocarbon pollutants such as crude oil and all environmental pollution treatments using fungi.
