The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Life Sciences,Biology organized a workshop entitled (Isolating, diagnosing, and sustaining algae farms)
Within the program for developing scientific research skills for postgraduate students, ASDPS, on Monday, February 5, 2024, in the presence of 82 studies students from various colleges of the University of Basrah , and lectured by the teacher, Dr. Anfal Nouri Abbas.
The workshop included the following topics:
Identify algae by presenting some of their characteristics. First, to learn about its locations, spread, and appropriate conditions for its growth.
Determine methods for collecting samples for isolating algae.
Determine the methods for isolating and purifying algae, according to the type of research and study.
How to obtain pure cultures of one type of algae.
How to measure growth methods in algae.
How to grow algae in the laboratory and identify the appropriate conditions for its growth
Preparing algae mass cultures for extracting active compounds.
