To rejoice in the University Day celebrations, the College of Education for Pure Sciences participated in the celebration of the founding of the University of Basrah  on its fifty-ninth anniversary. The departments of the Scientific College organized a number of scientific exhibitions and events in which a group of college students participated. The celebration was inaugurated by the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Majed Mohammed Jassim he praised the efforts made by the heads of departments, faculty and students in the success of this event, which highlights the role of the University of Basrah in achieving its goals since its establishment to serve the community.
It should be noted that the University of Basrah was established on the first of April of the year (1964) and studies began in it with four main faculties: the College of Science, Arts, Engineering, Administration and Economics.
The University of Basrah grants various academic degrees from bachelor's, higher diploma, master's and doctoral degrees in various scientific and human specializations.
