The College of Education for Pure Sciences / Department of Chemistry at the University of Basrah  organized a scientific trip to the chemistry laboratories at the Najibiyah power station, accompanied by the two teachers, Dr. Lama Taher Tohme and Ms. Hawra Karim Daif and Dr. Rehab Ghani Abboud and Eng. Muhammad Khalaf Muhammad and M. M. Abdul Jalil Muhammad Abdul Jalil
The visit included a tour of the water and steam treatment laboratory, the oil laboratory, the environment laboratory, and the tests of the laboratories, which are the examination of the acidity function, electrical conductivity, and the examination of hard ions, as well as biological tests of industrial water, methods of treatment with ion exchanges, and an examination of how to control the technical specifications and operational determinants of water in thermoelectric units.
