
The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra, in the Department of Computer Science, held a workshop entitled “The difficulties facing the applied student in the field of practical education and how to solve them.”
The workshop included several topics
The first axis: it included the topic of distraction and its treatment, through which Prof. Dr. Iyad Ibrahim Abdel-Sada presented the problems that the applied student suffers from in how to attract students’ attention to him, address the problems resulting from students’ distraction during teaching, and develop solutions and recommendations for it
As for the second axis: it included the title (Scientific Subject), where Assistant Professor Dr. Salah Falih presented part of the educational curricula and their impact on the student, in addition to the difficulties facing the student represented by the difficulty of the prescribed curriculum, and the development of solutions in addressing the student’s ability to contain the scientific subject .
As for the third axis: it included the difficulties facing the student in the field of practical education, in which Dr. Zainab Hamza Abbas touched on the most important problems faced by the student / who applies values related to education programs, i.e. problems with the academic supervisor, problems with the school director, and problems with the assistant teacher) How to treat it and develop appropriate solutions for it
As for the fourth axis: it included the title (adaptation to the school), where the assistant teacher Ammar Asaad Muhammad dealt with the problems that the student/applicant suffers from in the field of school, and the difficulties he faces represented by the school environment and how to adapt to it, in addition to recommendations related to how to overcome the student for those difficulties
As for the fifth axis: it dealt with the topic (adaptation with students), in which I dealt with the teacher / Wejdan Yassin Abdel Karim
The difficulties encountered by the student / the application with students and how to accommodate them in the correct way, in addition to
Develop appropriate solutions in the event of a problem and contain them.
As for the sixth axis, it included (the instructions of the applied student), in which the assistant teacher, Professor Dhafer Ghani Honi, spoke to adhere to all the instructions and recommendations related to the practical education program and to know the school’s procedures
and apply it appropriately.
As for the seventh axis, it included (the psychological and social environment), in which Dr. Zainab Jamil Abdel Jalil addressed the role of building the personality of the university student from the psychological, scientific and educational aspect. These aspects represent the personality of the teacher or teacher responsible for the educational and scientific aspect.
The workshop made a number of recommendations
The need to pay attention to the study of educational materials and learning theories that are inserted during the four stages and to employ them in a practical way in order to contribute to building the personality of the university student
Strengthening the role of the university student and creating psychological and educational readiness since entering the first stage in order to be ready for his role as a teacher or teacher in the future.
