The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra, Department of Life Sciences, organized a scientific lecture on (the composition of the waterfowl community in the eastern Hammar marsh and determining the ratio of migratory birds to the settlement)
The lecture presented by the researcher (Aqil Lafta Muhammad) included birds as one of the most widespread living creatures and the highest value in nature, as their sizes range from small birds such as hummingbirds to large ones such as ostriches. Environmental conditions in order to keep them to multiply.
The lecture aims at the importance of the biological diversity of birds, development and environmental threats, which negatively reflected on the biodiversity of them in the Iraqi wetlands and the marshes of Iraq in particular, because the Iraqi marshes are divided into amorphous and immaterial, and the lack of studies related to the environmental and biological differences between the two environments.
