Summary:

A home-made semi-automatic microfluidic flow injection system was built and designed in the laboratories of the Department of Chemistry, College of Education for Pure Sciences, for the determination of nitrite ion in natural waters. The importance of the research lies in the fact that it is concerned with introducing modern and advanced technology for the first time at the University of Basra, as well as designing and building the device in our laboratories to obtain quick and accurate results and to estimate nitrates in water in an inexpensive way due to the consumption of very small quantities of reagents and samples.
