Summary:

In this paper, four new derivatives of 2-thiohydentine, which are heterocyclic compounds, were prepared from the reaction of some maleimide derivatives with phenyl isothiocyanate, where these compounds were diagnosed using infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry of proton and carbon-13, as well as mass spectrometry. The efficiency of the four compounds as antioxidants was studied, as some of these compounds showed antioxidant activity. The biological activity of the new compounds was also evaluated against several types of bacteria and fungi, and it showed an average activity. Therefore, a more in-depth study is needed to understand the effectiveness and mechanism of inhibition for these four new compounds.
