The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Al-Dahan, received a delegation from the Al-Abbas's Holy Shrine, in the presence of the University President’s Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ayman Saleh Neama, and senior university officials.

During the meeting, the University President received an official invitation from the Al-Abbas's Holy Shrine to participate in the central graduation ceremony for Iraqi university students—the seventh edition of the "By the Light of the Moon" (Ala Hady al-Qamar) cohort. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday, November 19–20, 2026, at the Al-Abbas's Holy Shrine as part of the "Fityat al-Kafeel" (Youth of Al-Kafeel) National Project.

The invitation included a request to nominate graduating students to attend the ceremony and coordinate with the Shrine’s authorized representatives, as well as a call for university representatives to participate in this blessed annual event
