Dr. Aqeel Fadhil Al-Dahan, President of the University of Basra, received Atyaf Zuhair Al-Tamimi, a member of the Basra Provincial Council and Chair of the Economic Development and Investment Committee. The meeting aimed to discuss economic integration and outline an investment roadmap based on scientific planning.

Discussions focused on preparing economic feasibility studies and joint advisory strategies to support major investment projects in the governorate. Attention was also given to creating a favorable environment for attracting investment, directing university research toward solving real-world economic challenges, and fostering the local business environment.

Dr. Al-Dahan emphasized that the University of Basra is placing its centers of expertise and its economic and advisory units at the service of the Development Committee. This initiative aims to provide economic decision-makers in the governorate with robust data and scientifically sound plans to ensure the success of investment projects.

For her part, Council Member Atyaf Zuhair Al-Tamimi highlighted the importance of involving the academic sector in formulating the governorate's economic policies. She affirmed the Economic Development and Investment Committee's commitment to establishing a lasting partnership with the university to stimulate investment activity and create new job opportunities for the people of Basra.
