After successfully completing its mission of serving pilgrims commemorating the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the Karma Ali route, the University of Basra continued its humanitarian efforts by launching its first convoy to support the Husseini processions at the Shalamcheh border crossing, in a display of generosity, solidarity, and selflessness.

The convoy included students from the College of Agriculture, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and the College of Education for Pure Sciences. It carried water, food supplies, ice, and various other essential items to support the Husseini processions and serve the pilgrims arriving through the Shalamcheh border crossing on their way to the holy city of Karbala.

Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basra, stated that the university is dispatching this first convoy to support the Husseini processions and serve the pilgrims arriving from the Shalamcheh border crossing by providing water, food, ice, and all the necessary supplies. This initiative stems from the university's humanitarian and national responsibility to serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). He added that the University of Basra will continue to dedicate its capabilities and energies to serving the visitors, believing that participating in the success of the Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremonies represents a humanitarian and national message that embodies the values ​​of giving, generosity and solidarity
