The Department of Computer Science at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Basrah, achieved a distinguished scientific presence at the 18th ECAI 2026 International Conference, held in Bucharest on July 2-3, 2026, under the auspices of the IEEE.

The department participated with 14 peer-reviewed research papers in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and medical computing, with the support of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, and the follow-up of the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Hamed Ali Abdul-Asadi.

The leading role of Professor Dr. Zaid Amin Abdul-Jabbar was prominent, as he contributed to all the presented research papers.

This participation is a significant addition to the University of Basrah, as the conference papers are indexed in the global IEEE Xplore database
