The Department of Computer Science at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra added a new academic achievement to its record, by obtaining national program accreditation from the Iraqi Council for Accreditation of Educational Education, which reflects the advanced scientific and organizational level of the college.
On this occasion, the Deanship of the College, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Majid Muhammad Jassim, extends its congratulations to Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, the respected President of the University of Basra, and to all members of the Computer Science Department, including faculty, staff and students, in appreciation of their efforts in achieving this achievement.
The accreditation came after a field visit and comprehensive audit conducted by the national team during the 2025-2026 academic year, which included scientific and administrative aspects, infrastructure, and quality assurance programs. Based on the team's report, the department's undergraduate program was granted conditional accreditation for two years.

This accreditation represents an important step in strengthening the college’s position and confirming its commitment to academic quality standards to prepare competent educational cadres to serve the community and the education sector
