The College of Education for Pure Sciences - University of Basra concludes its third annual scientific conference for postgraduate studies.

Under the generous patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, the Third Annual Scientific Conference for Postgraduate Studies was held from May 3rd to 4th, 2026, at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Basrah. The conference featured lecturers from the United States and Turkey, and included discussions of high-quality research in five scientific disciplines.

The conference witnessed distinguished scientific activities, including the discussion and evaluation of several postgraduate projects and research papers by the specialized scientific committee. The committee expressed high praise for the advanced scientific level of the participating research, which spanned the fields of chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and life sciences.

The conference also featured scientific and specialized lectures delivered by experts from prestigious international universities. Lecturers from the United States and Turkey enriched the conference proceedings, and their lectures were met with great enthusiasm from the attendees, adding a distinct international dimension to the conference sessions. The conference activities were not limited to oral discussions; they also included the display of scientific posters showcasing the participating research projects. These posters, displayed in the halls of the conference complex, formed a distinctive visual display of research and garnered significant interest and interaction from attendees and researchers.

At the conclusion of the conference, the college deanship honored outstanding researchers, recognizing the exceptional research efforts of a group of postgraduate students. Participating lecturers from both inside and outside Iraq, as well as members of the central scientific committee, were also honored for their significant contributions to the success of this scientific event.

The conference concluded with the presentation and discussion of several recommendations and proposals put forth by the central scientific committee. These recommendations emphasized the necessity of involving international reviewers in future sessions, ensuring the conference is held annually and on a regular basis, highlighting and documenting the scientific posters, establishing a dedicated online platform for publishing research, allocating incentive awards for top researchers, and forming a permanent committee to monitor the implementation of these recommendations
