The Council of the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra held its seventh regular open session for the 2025-2026 academic year on March 17, 2026. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, and attended by the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs, and all members. At the beginning of the session, the chair welcomed all members. The session included discussions on the following:

1- Directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and the University of Basra regarding the admission plan and needs for postgraduate studies for the 2026-2027 academic year.

2- Setting the dates for postgraduate student examinations in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

3- Discussing requests for extensions for some postgraduate and undergraduate students.

4- Regarding undergraduate studies, the session included discussions on the practical training period, setting the date for the discussion of fourth-year student research projects, and the date for the College's conference on fourth-year research.

5- Discussing the appointment of scientific, preparatory, and organizational committees for the postgraduate student evaluation conference scheduled for the end of April. 6. Reading and discussing some official ministry documents.
