The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign to increase green spaces, rehabilitate gardens, and plant evergreen seedlings.
The initiative, in which the Dean, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, participated, aimed to improve the campus environment and promote a spirit of volunteerism among students and staff, thus contributing to establishing a culture of environmental awareness and appreciation for green spaces.
The campaign's objectives included:
*Increasing green spaces, improving the landscape, raising environmental awareness, and fostering a spirit of teamwork and volunteerism.
*Rehabilitating and developing the college's gardens and planting them with various types of seedlings and flowers.
*Planting evergreens and trees in pathways and gardens.
*Organizing campaigns as part of the University of Basra's Volunteer Work Week.
This environmental initiative highlights the commitment of educational institutions to increasing vegetation cover and their active role in serving the community
