University of Basra holds an orientation course for first-year students

The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basra, represented by the Department of Computer Science, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance Unit, held a guidance workshop for first-year students in both the morning and evening programs. The workshop took place in the Knowledge Hall on Monday, January 20, 2026.

The workshop aimed to highlight several important topics, most notably the role of educational and academic guidance and the culture of dialogue in shaping the university student's personality. This is crucial for developing awareness and promoting positive values, in line with the demands of university life.

The workshop included valuable lectures presented by Professor Ali Abdul Hussein Madhoushi, Dr. Zainab Jamil Abdul Jalil, and Dr. Salman Dawood Fayyad. The lectures focused on enhancing students' guidance awareness and developing their dialogue and communication skills, thus contributing to supporting their academic journey and building a well-rounded university personality.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturers were honored by the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, in recognition of their outstanding efforts and active contribution to the success of this guidance event
