A delegation from the University of Basra visited several universities, research centers, and cultural institutions in Beijing and Shanghai, People's Republic of China, as part of a program aimed at strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation included the Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, along with several other deans and the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at the University Presidency

The visit included official meetings with representatives of Chinese universities and research centers, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation in scientific and cultural fields, and ways to exchange expertise and shared ideas that contribute to the development of the academic and research process.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to open new avenues for joint scientific cooperation through the exchange of professors, students, and researchers, the establishment of joint research projects, and the organization of conferences and scientific workshops that serve modern research trends. They also emphasized the importance of continued communication and signing future memoranda of understanding that solidify this cooperation and support partnerships between the University of Basra and Chinese universities.
