Basrah University students win first place in the Higher Education Reading Competition.

Basrah  University students won the first places in the Higher Education Reading Award test, as three students from different colleges excelled in the award in its second edition for the year 2024, which was launched by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, which is one of the most important cultural competitions that contribute to enhancing students' reading and thinking skills.
The winning students from Basra University excelled in reading and analyzing two books prepared by the organizing committee for the test, namely the book (Islamic Views on the Declaration of Human Rights) by the martyr Sayyid Muhammad Al-Sadr and the book (The Civilizational Issue.. How Do We Invent Our Future in a Changing World) by the Saudi writer Zaki Al-Milad, as the winning students demonstrated a great ability to understand and analyze the essential ideas in these books.
The most prominent results of Basrah  University students in the competition came as the student in the College of Medicine, Noor Al-Huda Hussam Jihad Imran, achieved sixth place with a score of 87 in a time of 22 minutes and 45 seconds.
The student at the College of Medicine, Abdullah Majid Asghar Muhammad Taqi, achieved the eighth place with a score of 87, in a time of 27 minutes and 71.67 seconds.

The student at the College of Medicine, Al-Zahraa, Maysam Ahmed Kazim Muzan, achieved the 32nd place with a score of 82, in a time of 17 minutes and 85.67 seconds.
The President of the University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, said that the students of the University of Basrah, by obtaining these advanced ranks among (1327) students from various scientific and human specializations, is evidence of the University of Basra's continued achievement of excellence and leadership in this important competition.

He stressed that this excellence reflects the students' insistence on success and that they are a source of pride for the university in various scientific and cultural fields.

He added that this excellence is not an individual achievement, but rather a joint effort between the students and the senior administrations at the university, which seeks to instill the values ​​of science and knowledge in the souls of its children, and we look forward to the continuation of this creative spirit in all fields.
In continuation of the competition program, the winners will be honored with an amount of one hundred million dinars. The first ten winners will receive four million dinars each, while the twelfth winners will receive three million each, while the thirteenth winners will receive two million dinars each, and the fourteenth winners will receive one million dinars for each winning student.
