University of Basrah organizes a symposium on (Smoking and its impact on individual health)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Chemistry, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized a symposium on smoking and its impact on individual health.

The symposium aimed to
Defining smoking, its types and causes, and identifying the most important harms resulting from smoking
Definition of the term passive smoking and its impact on the individual
And ways to quit smoking.
The symposium was attended by Mr. Dean, Prof. Dr. Majid Muhammad Jassim, and Mr. Head of the Chemistry Department, Prof. Dr. Moayad Yousef Kazem, in the Knowledge Hall in the Hall Complex/College of Education for Pure Sciences
The symposium also discussed the harmful effects of smoking and its dangers on the health level of the students, as well as the scientific level and the danger of smoking on the life of every human being, as well as the diseases caused by smoking and how to get rid of this bad habit and the danger of nicotine controlling the human brain. The lectures emphasized that smoking is harmful on the psychological and moral level for the students. The nature of these factors also affects the students’ academic and scientific level. At the end of the workshop, they pointed out the most prominent solutions that must be followed in order to quit smoking. The symposium witnessed interventions by the attendees.
