The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a lecture (Isatin derivatives and their biological effectiveness) presented by the researcher (Ghofran Saleh Yacoub), through which Isatin derivatives were identified due to their biological importance in medical and therapeutic applications as antibacterials.
They are heterocyclic compounds from which various derivatives have been prepared in many ways. The compound isatin contains many active groups that give it important chemical properties, allowing it to interact with different types of molecules to prepare many compounds of importance in the biological and pharmaceutical fields. Where Isatin derivatives act as enzyme inhibitors. The lecture also concluded with the importance and effectiveness of these compounds as promising compounds in inhibiting bacteria.
