Basrah University and the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies sign a memorandum of scientific cooperation

The University of Basrah and the Arabian Gulf Academy for Maritime Studies signed a memorandum of joint scientific cooperation in several fields, which would develop education, training and expertise for both parties to benefit the university’s students and graduates and the public sector, which represents the greatest weight in the Iraqi economy. The agreement was signed by the university president, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, with President of the Academy, Rear Admiral Alaa Saber Hajem. The two sides agreed to cooperate to enrich and contribute qualitative additions and exchange support in information and expertise in the scientific, technical, administrative and economic fields, as well as developing human resources and publishing joint research in a way that serves both parties and the public interest, as well as organizing a joint working group that adopts pioneering projects based on the latest digital technologies globally and their various applications in The Arabian Gulf Academy for Digital Maritime Studies project. The two parties emphasized the employment of the means and capabilities of the university, including training centers and headquarters, and the establishment of workshops and specialized courses to raise the scientific level of officers and teachers, and in return, the opening of training halls and laboratories for students of the University of Basrah to benefit from them in order to supply state institutions and the labor market with qualified graduates. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, accompanied by a number of deans of faculties and directors of departments, toured the academy's laboratories and training halls, watched the exhibition of mechanics and electricity, and was briefed on the latest developments and inventions in this field.
