The University of Basra / College of Education for Pure Sciences has been fertilizing scientific and cultural ideas with various state institutions, so the Department of Life Sciences, in cooperation with the Basra Police Command / Department of Forensic Evidence, held a workshop under the title (Biological Forensic Evidence), where Colonel Dr. Basem Muften Awahid gave a lecture Under the title Applications of DNA in Forensic Evidence, Dr. Asmaa Abdel Zahra, a lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences, gave a lecture entitled Forensic Entomology. The workshop was attended by M. Scientific Dean, Prof. Dr. Abdel Sattar Jaber and M. Administrative Dean Prof. Dr. Maged Mohamed, and the workshop was concluded with a recommendation to encourage joint research work with state institutions, especially the Ministry of Interior, in conducting postgraduate studies in the field of forensic evidence.
