The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah  organized a scientific lecture entitled A Phenotypical and Molecular Diagnostic Study of Some Types of Storehouse Insects in Maysan Governorate
The lecture presented by the student (Fatima Qassem Hamdan) included the economic importance of storehouse insects and the impact of the presence of these insects on crops, especially stored grains, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the study focused on early detection of these human pests, based on molecular diagnosis.
The purpose of the lecture
A survey of insects associated with stored grains in different regions of Maysan Governorate.
And the phenotypic diagnosis of species using taxonomic traits and drawing them with a Lucida camera and making a taxonomic key for local species.
Confirmation of the diagnosis of the species that were diagnosed phenotypically by molecular diagnosis.
And the use of molecular diagnostics in the early detection of infection within the grain.
