A doctoral thesis at the University of Basrah discussing (preparation and study of the biological activity of some heterocyclic compounds of thiazolidines and oxadiazoles)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Basrah  discussed a doctoral thesis on (preparation and study of the biological activity of some heterocyclic compounds of thiazolidines and oxadiazoles)
The thesis presented by the researcher (Ahmed Abdel-Hadi Majeed) included the preparation of thiazolidine hydrazides and a number of thiazolidine derivatives containing oxadiazole in their composition and the identification of compounds by infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR) and carbon (13C NMR). And studying their biological effectiveness as anti-bacterial and antioxidants using DPPH root and as anti-cancer cells of the MCF7 type, as well as cytotoxicity.
Thesis objectives:
Preparation of different thiazolidine derivatives containing oxadiazole with different sites and methods from the reaction of hydrazides with aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids and choosing the best one in terms of time and yield, as well as preparation of new thiazolidine derivatives containing oxadiazole-5-mercapto derivative from the reaction of hydrazides with carbon disulfide and a base. And studying the biological activity of the prepared compounds as antibacterial and antioxidants using DPPH root, and applying some thiazolidine derivatives containing oxadiazole on breast cancer cells of the MCF7 type, and conducting the initial cytotoxicity test for the prepared compounds on human blood.
Conclusions:
The possibility of preparing and purifying the thiazolidine ring from the reaction of aldehydes and cysteine easily. The possibility of preparing the derivatives of the oxadiazole ring from hydrazide and aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids in the presence of phosphoryl chloride, as well as the possibility of preparing oxadiazole derivatives-5-mercapto from the reaction of hydrazide with carbonazole disulfide and it possesses two derivatives. Good activity towards bacteria and oxidation, especially the derivatives containing proton groups, and the prepared compounds ATASO, ATAO1, TASO have high oxidation activity.
