Basra University holds a scientific symposium on (Applications of optical and medical ceramic materials)

The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Chemistry, held a scientific symposium on the applications of optical and medical ceramic materials
Where he gave the first lecture, Professor Ali Taha Saleh, in the Department of Chemistry - Faculty of Science - University of Maysan on the preparation of biomaterials (ceramics) and their mechanical properties that can be applied in orthopedic surgery, where these materials proved that they have compressive strength, tensile strength and compatibility Bio-conductivity with bone as well as drug delivery.
As for the second lecture, it was delivered by Prof. Dr. (Diaa Abdel Mohsen Hassan).
It included an introduction to ceramics, its types, methods of preparation and its applications, a review of the topic of solid-state lighting and the preparation of oxynitrides Sr(1-x)Si2O2N2: xEu2+ by the method of metal-polymer complexes and its success in white LED applications, as well as the topic of fluorescent materials in glass Phosphor in Glass (PiG) using the compound Lu3Al5O12:Ce@SiO2, which has been shown to have the ability to reduce thermal and chemical dissociation in LEDs applications.
