The Academic Guidance and Psychological Guidance Committee in the Mathematics Department/College of Education for Pure Sciences/University of Basra, and within its program for the 2021-2022 academic year, held a counseling symposium for first-year students and another for second-stage students on Tuesday 1/3/2022, in which Prof. Abdul Wahed Mahmoud Muhammad Al-Tarisi in the Department of Mathematics,
He emphasized a number of topics related to university and social life for students, including:
1- Emphasizing the cultural depth of Iraq and its prestigious position, and eliciting values, sermons and lessons from them for the development of Iraqi society.
2- Emphasis on science and knowledge and its relationship to lofty and noble morals, as they are inseparable.
3- Emphasizing the most important external and internal challenges facing our Iraqi society and working seriously to address these challenges and make the Iraqi society united and cohesive aiming at construction, development and progress.
4- Emphasis on the phenomenon of the spread of psychotropic substances among members of society and their negative effects, and the need to work hard to control and combat them and rid society of them.
5- Emphasizing the use of modern technology in a way that secures the scientific, social and cultural level of community members, especially students, and avoiding deviant behaviors.
