The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Computer Science at the University of Basra, held a scientific workshop for first-year students entitled Psychological, Social and Scientific Empowerment for the University Student
The workshop included several topics:
The first axis: a lecture by Dr. Iyad Ibrahim entitled (The Scientific and Educational Importance of University Studies)
The second axis: a lecture by Nawal Muhammad Assaf / Educational Guidance and Psychological Care Center entitled (Motivation and its role in achieving success)
The most prominent content of the lecture was to focus on some of the things that contributed to reducing university students' motivation to study (such as fallacies, giving justifications, delaying and procrastinating, and losing the passion for study).
The third axis: a lecture by the instructor, Dhafer Ghani, entitled (Compliance with the instructions and regulations within the university)
The workshop aimed to empower first-year students psychologically, socially and scientifically to adapt to university life
