The College of Education for Pure Sciences, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basra, organized a workshop entitled (Linear and nonlinear optical properties of some organic materials and some of their applications). The workshop was opened by the recitation of the Noble Qur’an by Eng. Star Jabbar Badr, then followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq. The first lecture was by the teacher Dr. Noman Salim Hashem Muslim in the Department of Physics, in which he dealt with the applications of linear and nonlinear optics and their applications in optical sensors, while the second lecture was for the teacher Dr. Organic applications of nonlinear optics The researchers were discussed by the audience in light of the practical results they reviewed and their importance to researchers in different disciplines. The attendees commended this workshop for being the first in the department in the field of nonlinear optics. They recommended organizing a broader symposium and hosting more researchers interested in this important discipline. The session was moderated by Before (Prof. Hamza Bakr Salman)
The meeting was attended by the head of the department, professors and graduate students and some of the students of the initial stages
This was done at Al-Hassan Ibn Al-Haytham Hall in the Physics Department.
