I discussed a master's thesis in the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Chemistry at the University of Basra, about
Preparation of the diagnosis of some complexes of formazan with some transition elements and study of their thermal stability
The message presented by the researcher (Haneen Hazem Talib) included
Preparation of formazan compounds derived from Schiff bases with azo compound and its metal complexes and diagnosed by spectroscopic methods. The magnetic properties of the prepared complexes were studied, and the results showed that the complexes of Cu(ll), Cr(lll), Co(ll), Ni(ll) take the tetrahedral geometric shape and have paramagnetic properties. The thermal stability of the prepared complexes was studied by the thermogravimetric decomposition technique and the thermodynamic data were calculated (∆H, ∆S, ∆G) using Coats-Redfern method. The results showed that the positive rate of change in enthalpy (∆H) indicates that the decomposition processes are endothermic, the rate The negative entropy change (∆S) indicates that the complexes are more orderly than the reactants, and the positive rate of squeezing free energy (∆G) indicates that the reaction is not spontaneous.
The message aims to
Preparation of formazan derivatives from the prepared Schiff bases. Preparation of the transition metal complexes of [Cu(ll), Co(ll), Ni(ll), Cr(lll)] from reaction with the formazan ligands and their identification using spectroscopic methods. A study of the thermal stability of the prepared ligands and complexes.
