Nonlinear optical properties and determination of the optical power of mixed polymer films.

NONLINEAR OPTICAL PROPERTIES AND OPTICAL POWER Poly (3HT - Co - Th) - PMMALIMITING OF POLY (3HT - Co - Th) - PMMA POLYMER BLEND FILMS

In the International Journal of Engineering Science Technologies (IJEST)

In this study, the Poly(3HT - Co - Th) copolymer was prepared using the addition polymerization method and the Poly(3HT - Co - Th) - PMMA films were prepared by using

Method) (Casting). The nonlinear optical properties and optical power determination behavior of the prepared films were studied using the Z-scan beam scanning technique (Z - Scan Technique), for different weight ratios of the copolymer Poly(3HT - Co - Th).

In the present work, a solid-state diode-pumped laser was used, which operates in a continuous wave (CW) at a wavelength of 532 nm.

The nonlinear optical constants of the Poly(3HT - Co - Th) - PMMA copolymer were found for the different weight ratios of the Poly(3HT - Co - Th) copolymer. From the results obtained, it was found that the Poly(3HT - Co - Th) - PMMA films showed the effect of saturated absorption (Saturable Absorption (SA)) on the effect of the saturated absorbent properties.

(Self - defocusing) This gives an indication that both coefficients, the nonlinear refractive index (n2) and the nonlinear absorption coefficient (β), have negative values.

Results obtained indicate that the mixed polymer membranes Poly (3HT - Co - Th) - PMMA is one of the promising materials and can be considered suitable materials for various optical and photonic applications such as, optical sensor and solar cell and electronic devices - visual.
